# Ontario Baseball Rankings — methodology summary

This file summarizes how OBR rankings work. It does not contain player ranks, batting averages, or OBR Scores.

## Pools

A ranking pool is one association, one season, one age group, and one public board (AA or AAA). EOBA 9U AAA is a different list from TBA 9U AAA. The combined Ontario board shows every live association on one page while still applying each association's own qualification rules.

Live public boards: EOBA 9U AA and AAA, TBA 9U AAA, COBA 9U AAA, YSBA 9U AA, plus combined Ontario AA and AAA.

## Qualification

Rank and OBR Score unlock only after a player meets that association's minimum games played and minimum at-bats. Thresholds can differ by association. Names may appear before a player qualifies; official ranks stay locked until those minimums are met.

## OBR Score

The OBR Score is a composite hitting score. It standardizes batting average, hits, RBI, and runs so qualified players and teams can be compared fairly inside one pool. Counting stats are pro-rated where the methodology requires it. OBR does not publish pitching rankings.

## Geography

OBR covers Ontario, Canada, including Durham Region and Greater Toronto. Canada is mentioned only as "Ontario, Canada." OBR is not a national ranking and is not affiliated with the Ontario Baseball Association (OBA).
